NOTICE

The public can expect multiple activities in the project area over the upcoming months and throughout different stages of construction. Some of these activities include but are not limited to:

  • Excavation
  • Concrete
  • Material Hauling
  • Barrier Installation
  • Detours

WHAT IS HAPPENING?

Those travelling on Deerfoot Trail between Glenmore Trail SE and 24 Street SE can expect delays due to construction activities.

The Deerfoot Trail Improvements project is a complex multi-year project that began in 2023 and will continue to 2027.

Some of this work will happen during nighttime to ensure there is minimal traffic disruption to the public.

Although best efforts will be put in place to minimize any disturbance, residents in nearby areas may notice increased noise from the ongoing work in progress across these areas.

Speed reductions and detours will be implemented throughout the work area. Motorists are advised to follow posted speed limits and construction signage, and drive with caution.

Please be mindful of and obey onsite signage and traffic accommodations. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to complete these complex, multi-year improvements.

Deerfoot Trail is located within Treaty 7, and within the historical Northwest Métis homeland. We respectfully acknowledge the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy, including the Siksika, Piikani and Kainai Nations; the Stoney-Nakoda, including the Chiniki, Bearspaw and Wesley Nations; and the Tsuut’ina Nation. We also acknowledge the homeland of the Métis Nation of Alberta Region 3.
