How will Deerfoot Trail be improved in this area?

  • The bridge over Glenmore Trail will be twinned:
    • A new bridge will be constructed to the east of the existing bridge.
    • Once complete, the new bridge will carry all northbound traffic and the existing bridge will carry all southbound traffic.
  • Additional lanes will be added on mainline Deerfoot Trail, and there will be a minimum of three continuous lanes in each direction.
  • Various safety and capacity improvements will be made on eastbound Glenmore Trail at Deerfoot Trail.
  • Various safety and capacity improvements will be made on ramps from southbound Deerfoot Trail to Glenmore Trail.
