IVOR STRONG BRIDGE

Delivery and installation of bridge girders will be conducted the week of April 14, 2025 (weather permitting). Overnight lane closures will occur to facilitate the transportation and delivery of the girders. See onsite signage for details.

WHAT IS HAPPENING?

LANE CLOSURES DUE TO GIRDER DELIVERY

The new girders for the Ivor Strong Bridge over the Bow River will be delivered and installed during the night.

The center and right lanes of southbound Deerfoot Trail from the Anderson Road and Bow Bottom Trail interchange to beyond the Ivor Strong Bridge will be temporarily closed from 9:00 PM until 06:00 AM to protect the public during girder delivery and installation.

In addition, short duration pedestrian/bike stoppages will occur on the multi-use pathways underneath the Ivor Strong Bridge between 8:00 PM and 06:00 AM with a maximum delay of 1 hour.

For additional information, please see onsite signage.

OVERNIGHT WORK

All efforts will be made to mitigate the impact of noise and dust on nearby residents during nighttime hours.

TIMELINES
The work will start the week of April 14, 2025, and will last approximately three nights. This is an estimated timeline as work is dependent on favorable weather conditions for the transportation and installation of the girders.
